Honoring Central Oregon’s rich ranching heritage, Dr. Robert Pamplin Jr. and the R2 Ranch organizes, hosts, and promotes a 4-H Rodeo Events every year for the benefit and training of local 4-H Clubs and their members. Shaniko, Oregon first inhabited in 1862, and incorporated in 1901, was once a valuable transportation hub of Central Oregon. In the first decade of the 20th century, Shaniko was known as the “Wool Capital of the World” and was the center of a 20,000 square mile wool, wheat, cattle and sheep production.
